Nairobi National Park is a unique wildlife reserve located just south of Nairobi's city center. It is one of the few national parks in the world situated directly next to a major capital city. The park covers about 117 km² (45 square miles) and is famous for offering classic African safari experiences with Nairobi's skyline visible in the background.
Wildlife You Can Expect to See
The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including:
Lions
Leopards (less commonly seen)
Cheetahs
Black rhinos (one of the best places in Kenya to see them)
Buffaloes
Giraffes
Zebras
Wildebeest
Elands
Impalas and gazelles
Hyenas
Over 400 bird species
Notably, elephants are not found in the park because it is relatively small and fenced on some sides.
