Sant Adrià de Besòs grew around its parish church on the northern bank of the Besòs River, while the municipality now extends across both sides of the estuary. On Catalonia’s Mediterranean coast, it forms part of a continuous urban area with Barcelona, Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, and is the smallest municipality in the Barcelonès comarca.
