Country: Australia Griffith is widely known as Australia’s food bowl, making it a major regional city in the Riverina and Murray region of western New South Wales. Its plan was created by Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin, the same designers behind Canberra and extensions to nearby Leeton. Named for New South Wales Public Works Secretary Arthur Hill Griffith, the city was officially proclaimed in 1987.
